The Fish House executive chef John Huggins has known he wanted to become a chef since he was young. He came from a family of good cooks and was always very intrigued to see everything put together.

Chef Jim Shirley, Executive chef and owner of the The Fish House Restaurant located on the water in historic downtown Pensacola, Florida has been invited to lecture at the prestigious 9th annual Southern Foodways symposium, October 19th – 22nd on the campus at the University of Mississippi.

The Fish House Deck Bar welcomes back a true legend in the music industry. Junior Marvin, of Bob Marley and the Wailers, will perform at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21.

Chef Jim Shirley of the Fish House restaurant has been invited to lecture at the prestigious Ninth Annual Southern Foodways Symposium, “Tracing the Arc of Eats from Texas to Florida” (October 19 – 22, 2006) on the University of Mississippi campus in Oxford.

Atlas Oyster House is offering a cooking symposium to preserve the art and tradition of fine Southern cooking, passing on our Southern traditions one recipe at a time.

Paying homage to a Cajun belief, chef Jim Shirley’s Grits á Ya-Ya is said to be so delicious your mouth will say “Ya-ya!” The dish combines shrimp, mushrooms, and Gouda cheese grits, making for a tasty entree.
