Jackson's Steakhouse Receives Coveted Golden Spoon Hall of Fame Award

December 8, 2009

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA - We are pleased to announce that Jackson's Steakhouse, one of Northwest Florida's local premier restaurants, has once again been recognized by Florida Trend magazine-with the prestigious Golden Spoon Hall of Fame Award.

The Golden Spoon Hall of Fame Award is the highest honor Florida Trend can bestow on a Florida restaurant. These awards are coveted by the state's best chefs and foodie favorites. Restaurants that have won Golden Spoon Awards year after year are considered unbeatable and put into the Hall of Fame. Jackson's Steakhouse, led by Chef Irv Miller, has earned nine Golden Spoon awards over the years. This year, Florida Trend picked Jackson's Steakhouse as the only new restaurant, from Pensacola to Jacksonville, to make it into the honored Hall of Fame.

Collier Merrill, president of the Great Southern Restaurant Group, of which Jackson's is a part, states, "We continually strive to provide our guests with the same things we all look for in a dining experience; quality food and stellar service. It is our goal to make this happen each and every time a guests comes to dine. We are truly honored to be presented with such an award."

Located in historic downtown Pensacola, Jackson's has been the cornerstone restaurant business success story in the revitalization of downtown Pensacola since its inception in 1999. Continuing the culinary tradition of fine dinner service with exceptional cuisine and spectacular presentation, Chef Miller continues to add brilliant new menu selections, including the generous Proprietor's Cut steak as well as fresh, steamed Maine lobster, flown in daily. For those looking for an excellent cuisine and stellar service, once again, Jackson's proves it is indeed the place to dine in Pensacola.

According to chef and co-owner Irv Miller, "The award is an industry honor. It is a true testament for recognizing that we have remained focused on our restaurant concept, high food standards, and service goals."

The Golden Spoon and Hall of Fame Awards are presented each year by Chris Sherman, the Food and Dining Editor for Florida Trend magazine. The awards are based on food, presentation, service, atmosphere, price and total dining experience. In the Northwest Florida Panhandle, from Pensacola to Panama City, Jackson's is one of only four restaurants out of thousands that has received this award.

Located in historic downtown Pensacola on Plaza Ferdinand, Jackson's Steakhouse is open for lunch service Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Cocktails are served at 5:00 p.m. with dinner service 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
