"American Pickers" Looking for Amateur Pickers for New National Television Show
At around 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 28, 2011, two weary road travelers pulled into the Fish House, located on Pensacola Bay, looking for some fresh local seafood for lunch. Those travelers were none other than Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz of the History Channel's "American Pickers" national television show.
The "pickers," known to their fans as Mike and Frank, were treated to a great day in Pensacola, spending all day filming at the Fish House with restaurant owners, the Merrill brothers: Will, Burney and Collier. Since the summer debut of the episode, "Frank Bears All," the Fish House has received an outpouring of fan support, inquiries and enthusiasm for "American Pickers" and the Fish House.
It seems as if the pickers and their producers enjoyed Pensacola just as much as we enjoyed their visit. We received a phone call earlier this week from one of the producers of the show, and they are looking for our help to get the word out regarding a new reality "picker" show, "Top Collector." Maria Goldberg, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Great Southern Restaurant Group says, "We are just so excited to have the American Picker/Top Collector producers back in Pensacola and at the Fish House."
On Monday, December 19th, producers from the show will be at the Fish House for a meet and greet beginning at 7:00 p.m. and lasting until 9:00 p.m. This is your chance to drop off your application and vie for a spot on the show.
Here is the information directly from the producers for all of those that are interested in applying to be on the show. Be sure to bring your written description of you and your picking partner including your area(s) of expertise, your contact information and a recent photo to the Fish House on Monday evening and meet the producers in person!
Good luck!
"Looking for amateur ‘American Pickers.' " $$$ COMPETE TO WIN BIG $$$
The producers of the hit TV show, "American Pickers," are creating a new competition show for the History Channel. "We're looking for America's best amateur pickers to compete for the title of ‘Top Collector!' We are seeking picking partners (husband/wife, friends, father/son, etc.) who are fun, knowledgeable and passionate about picking and selling antiques and collectibles. Do you spot the hidden treasurers that others miss? Do you know how to flip items for profit? Do you pick better than everyone you know?"
We are looking for people who collect such things as classic cars, motorcycles and scooters; coin-operated machines; antique casino equipment; circus, carnival, TV or movie memorabilia; military and Civil War items; cast iron or antique toys. Each week teams will compete for the title of "Top Picker" and a weekly $10,000 grand prize.
If you are not able to make it to the Fish House to drop off your submission and meet the producers in person, you can submit your application by email PickerCasting@Cineflix.com or call (646) 873-6517.
YOU COULD BE AMERICA'S TOP PICKER!
