We dusted off that Aug. 31, 2000 issue and were immediately struck by how many winners are still favorites. The Fish House was less than three years old but was gaining a regional reputation for fine seafood.

When I moved to the South, I had no idea what grits were. It took me several years to actually try grits and I was not thrilled with them. That was until I happened along the Grits a Ya Ya at the Atlas Oyster House in Pensacola, Florida.
